New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc., 2010 Gala Salutes Dr. John

The 12th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc. Gala fund-raising concert will take place Thursday, April 22nd, and features the work of Dr. John and the Heritage School of Music, the Foundation's signature education program. See details below.

Tickets are now available for the 12th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc. Gala fund-raising concert.

The Gala - a beautiful soiree, with fabulous food and fun, as well as great music - takes place Thursday, April 22nd, at  7 p.m. at the Hilton Riverside Hotel (map).

The evening features a lifetime musical tribute to - and a performance by - the one and only Dr. John. The great keyboardist and bandleader Jon Cleary also will perform.

The Gala also will honor Edward "Kidd" Jordan, the longtime leader of the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music, the signature education program of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc.

Gala tickets are $500 each. They include exclusive patron premiums as well as a special Gala Pass to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell, good for admission on all seven days of the festival. To purchase tickets to the Gala, please call (504) 410-4148.

The Gala's presenting sponsors are Shell and Peoples Health.

Proceeds from this year's Gala will support the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music, a free after-school program of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc., is the nonprofit organization that owns Jazz Fest . The Foundation uses the proceeds from Jazz Fest, and other revenues, for year-round programs in the areas of education, economic development and cultural events.
