Preservation Studies Summer Field School at Tulane School of Architecture

I am delighted to share with you an exciting new program.  Adjunct Assistant Professor Heather Knight and other colleagues from the Masters of Preservation Studies program put together the Summer Field School Program, and a wonderful feature appeared on Tulane University’s New Wave.  The program was a great success and we hope to offer it again next summer.

Fall Lecture Series Poster

The series is out!  You can download a PDF of the poster here.  In addition, I am sending a printed version to all alumni for whom we have accurate addresses.  It promises to be a wonderful and stimulating fall semester, and I hope you will consider coming to some or all of the lectures.  You will see that we have two alumni featured – both fellows of the American Institute of Architects.

Bob Hale FAIA hosted our Los Angeles reception at his office, Rios Clemente Hale, and I have known his work for many years.  His is one of the top design firms in LA and has received extensive national attention.  The Architecture Student Government (ASG) invited him to lead Architects Week this year, and he will be lecturing as part of his week long visit.

Errol Barron FAIA (www.errolbarron.com) is not only a distinguished senior colleague at TSA and prominent architect in New Orleans, he is also a gifted artist and musician.  He is coming off a year long sabbatical and will be sharing some of the amazing work he has done during this time.  He has also become a good friend during my first year at TSA.  Errol has been unusually generous and helpful to my wife and me as we have gotten to know the school and community – he has even taken to playing his flute in classical duets with our violinist daughter whenever she is in town visiting us.  Errol is enormously talented – and fun.
