The festival starts in a couple of days! Take a spin over to Lafayette Square and join Buddy Guy (pictured), Bobby Rush, Irma Thomas, Sonny Landreth, T-Model Ford, Luther Kent

Richie Havens Concert Friday
Folk legend Richie Havens performs this Friday, Oct. 16, at the Howlin' Wolf (map) in a benefit concert for the Don Jamison Heritage School of Music. Also on the bill are singer-songwriter Paul Sanchez and jazz trumpeter/Heritage School alum Shamarr Allen
, plus the students from both campuses of the Heritage School. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online here.
Tom Dent Congo Square on Blues Lecture Monday
On Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m., Charles Keil will present as part of our Tom Dent Congo Square Lecture Series. The free event at the Jazz & Heritage Center (map) features Keil - author of the 1966 landmark "Urban Blues" - speaking on the origin and various meanings throughout history of the term blues and its current cultural relevance.

Laura Valliant from right here in Gretna, LA, was the winner of our special Fans of the Fest contest to get a free night at a plush downtown hotel for the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival. The contest was open only to Fans of the Fest
